I can't grasp this. Can someone tell me in layman's terms what it is and is it fatal for a 2016 2.0ltr engine ?
What is it ?
Is there a recall to have it repaired ?

True and just think of all the extra points you will get at the garage when filling her up 😱I must admit that I’ve always had a second car which is petrol. I’ve previously always used that car for any short trips when I’ve had a diesel as my main car.
Now at least having the P250 as my main car, I don’t have to worry.
Are you sure about that? Someone forgot to measure the engine bay of JLR's two best-selling cars before they were due to be upgraded with the Jaguar XE diesel engine/EU6 exhaust (which works perfectly in that car). Due to exhaust "hardware and architecture" constraints on the Evoque, the 2.0L diesel has to perform all the DPF cleaning by active regeneration. Active regeneration is when oil dilution happens, even if it's successful. It doesn't make things right, but it's worth knowing that this isn't just a Land Rover thing!
I read Sarah's post earlier and was thinking of youbla bla bla
As it’s nearly Christmas.... NOEL 🤣Bast down the motorway 👋
Oh the angels alphabet 😱🤣🤣As it’s nearly Christmas.... NOEL 🤣
I clearly didn’t research enough before my purchase, I also didn’t read any RRE handbook, and I wasn’t given any warning or advice by the dealer. I actually asked about Oil Dilution when I did the handover, as that was something I had heard about, but I was told it wasn’t something I needed to worry about for a long time, then given a very brief description as to what Oil Dilution was, but no mention that MY car was going to suffer from the problem. I was never asked about my driving habits (style). I even said it was the first diesel I’d had because I don‘t regularly do long journeys. And what gets me is the fact that even since the launch of the new one they from what I gather have not changed the design fault before relaunching..... just more awareness to the problem if you’re at a good JLR dealership.... WHAT HAPPENS when these cars reach the dealerships that are not JLR and unaware of problem ...someone’s buying a year or two old car with no idea of the issue , no warning of driving style.... bit like all the people who bought the 2 litre models in 2016 up until the new version was launched no information until 2017 in a deviously written paragraph in handbook....
No problems reported on the Jaguar XE with the AJ200D EU6 diesel. Any ideas why?Yes, I am sure other Euro 6 engines have issues with oil dilution:
I think I mentioned that earlier! See previous posts about layout. No problems reported on the Jaguar XE with the AJ200D EU6 diesel. Any ideas why?
I think the point being made by another member was that other manufacturers are having issues with DPF's as well.No problems reported on the Jaguar XE with the AJ200D EU6 diesel. Any ideas why?
