Hi There!

I’ve just had this exact message pop up on my Evoque.

Ad blue has at least 10L+.

It is out of warranty (16 plate) and not under a service plan. Would you recommend taking this direct to Land Rover for the same fix?

Its now at 400 miles so any advice anyone can share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob
Hi Rob, do you mind me asking what the outcome was with your car?
I have just got the exact same message about a hour ago 😣 Called LR & cant fit me in until the 20th!!!
I have a 65 plate that has just had a brand new engine fitted a few weeks ago (car broke down as lock down began) so off the road for 6 months!
As you can imagine, this is the last thing i need.
Any help is much appreciated ☺

We've just had this warning last week a month after LR topped ours up, it's not actually incorrect quality fluid but that's the only warning it can come up with, a Google search general consensus is the tank being overfilled, this is what we armed ourselves with last Friday when it went in, the dealer wasn't wearing it and advised us adblu crystallises and the injectors could have blocked, needless to say I wasn't wearing that, they had it 6 hours, did some 'things', very vague when pressed other than we reset the computer and the light went out, they initially said it would be a 96 quid diagnostic fee chargeable if they felt it wasn't of their doing, well because they didn't really know the cause we weren't charged a penny. Who replaced your engine? Might be that yours has been overfilled too

Stick a pipe into your Adblue tank and siphon some out , say 2Litres but save it to re-use and then take it for a long fast motorway run.

Rnutley hasn't been back on since posting that reply
Ok, thanks for letting me know 😊

Thanks for replying.
So was it ad blue or Eoly fluid you had topped up? Been takling to a guy i know & said these should have been checked in my service ghat got done after engine change?!
LR Stirling (Penntland) changed the engine!
thanks again

Adblu top up which to me was overfilled.

What's Eoly fluid?

Ok 👍🏻 So this im thinking should have dealt with on engine change & checked during service afterwards!!
Im not too sure to be honest - the guy that mentioned it is a Toyota specialist & reckoned these engines use this to help with re gen of DPF 🤷🏻‍♀️ It seemingly injects everytime you top up fuel??! He could be totally wrong though!
I will certainly be trying to get this sorted without giving them anymore money 😞
Thanks again for your help - will update later.

PSA group cars use Eolys which is an additive dosed in when you open the fuel cap.

My understanding though that Eolys is only used on PSA group vehicles (Peugeot/Citroen/DS etc) not other marques.

Ah ok! He must be talking rubbish then 🤦🏻‍♀️
So you think this is most probably to do with ad blu? & would you think this should have been topped up at engine change or service a few weeks ago? I hate going into the garge blind incase they try & rip me off 🤬

If you have an adblu warning then it's adblu you need to look at but I would probably put my mortgage on it that it's not incorrect quality fluid, it's a catch all warming, like I said google searches come back with the tank being overfilled during top up, you've just had an engine replaced so it's likely your adblu was drained and topped up and thus overfilled

There's a topic on the XE forums regarding this.
A member fixed it himself by draining the adblue tank and cleaning out the sensor with hot water to dissolve all the crud.
The tank and injector are in a different location to the Evoque (tank is in the rear wheelarch on the XE) but it gives you an idea of the crystals and crud that bungs things up.
Scroll down about half way.

Ok, so.
They are saying the NOX sensor needs replaced! £500... parts & labour 🙄
Thinking we will source it elsewhere 🤔 to bring the cost down?! Anyone know if it needs to be LR to reset fault?
Thanks

Strange.
I wouldn't have thought the NOx sensor would have anything to do with "Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid Quality Detected".
Thats what they're telling me is wrong😏
Just picked it up & the warning is now reading ‘Diesel exhaust fluid dosing malfunction’ 😫
Adamant its nothing to do with new engine etc & that its to do with the exhaust?! Im so cluless 🤷🏻‍♀️
Thanks for all the replies everyone 🙏🏻
All suggestions are much appreciated ☺

Sounds like they are trying to rip you off !.
Try what I suggested in post #24 it's not going to cost you anything.

Why was the engine replaced, it's not an everyday occurrence.

Wouldn't surprise me 🤬

Back in March i got a ‘critically low oil
level’ warning whilst on the school run. There was no ‘low’ oil warning before this - straight to critical!! - Restricted mode, brakes failed!!! Although out of warranty, LR made full contribution to new engine & turbo! They have yet to say why this happened but we suspected an oil pump failure 🤷🏻‍♀️
Maybe scared incase i post on forums 😆
Will defo have a look at your post/advice
My husband is home from work tomorrow (mechanic to trade) but been out the business for many years 😏
Will keep everyone updated ☺
