Gear selector problem - latest

So 4 days after the Haldrex was replaced for a traction fault I went out to the Evoque, started, selector pops up but refuses to turn out of the Park position. Hours later (next morning) after reading previous posts she behaved perfectly and I rapidly headed for the garage. Diagnostics complete and the following fault codes showing:

P081C-64 Park Input Circuit - signal plausibility failure

P176C-11 Transmission Range Selector - circuit short to ground

New gear selector module required and a quick 30min job when they manage to get one! approx £400
Technician didn't fill me with much joy with his explanation of intermittent problem though. It could happen 1/1000 or 1/100 or 50/50.
Its booked in for repair in 6 days time in the hope they have got the part. Straight forward job; Two T20 screws at the front sides of console, pull up at the rear and discontent 3 multiplugs to access the underside and replace the gear selector module.
There is the worry that she would be stuck in Park again before the repair so I've always parked up so I could easily be towed if necessary. To do that though the car must be in Neutral to tow, there is a small lever on top of the gearbox, easily accessible without taking anything off (air filters etc), 5mm Allen key drops in a hole as you move the lever locking it in neutral so the car can be moved.

Everything was in place until today, I got home and drove in front of the neighbours drive to then reverse into mine. Only this time its stuck in Drive and will not move, gear selector does not go down or turn at all.
Got the trusty Allen key, into neutral and she is now sitting on my drive in the hope that after a few hours she will start behaving again for a little while longer.

Monday update - After about 6/7 starts and stops the gear selector finally decides it will go down this morning and not remain raised with D indicator flashing. Unfortunately at the next restart selector pops up in Park but doesn't move, so I'm back to where I was a week ago. Got a lift into work and waiting to hear back from the Warranty people again. Local JLR have been hopeless and unhelpful.
The next problem I have to solve is the replacement selector module has been ordered by my usual repairer 200 miles away (opposite sons house), would AA relay take me there even the the car is outside my own home?
