Hi
My 2017 Si4 Petrol (pre-ingenium) has had battery warning. Started during covid when not in use but with some mileage would stop.
Recently, it's been constant. But I haven't been able to drive it for longer than 20 mins.
I've recently installed Ghost 2 so believe that is drawing some power, though.
I got a bought Bosch C7 battery charger and charged the battery which initially showed low, and after an hour or so charged it fully. But the low battery message always appeared, been a week.
I used multimeter and it was showing 14.8 with engine running. I then turned offthe engine and it started going down. I think it was 12.8 when I started the engine and recorded it going down to 10.8 before moving up to 15.1 in less than 10 seconds. I then connected the C7 (engine off) and it showed low battery on C7 charger.
I've read few posts here recommending ctek mxs 5.0. Maybe I should return C7 and get ctek mxs 5.0
But could just be a poor battery that needs replacing. I could change the battery myself but read it needs some software syncing after battery change. LR wants £302 for battery. Might go with that.
Feel free to suggest the best next steps.
I don't mind replacing battery if it needs changing but if the problem lies elsewhere then I'm just wasting money.
Thanks
