As a three day old Evoque owner, may I ask if its likely mine will have come with the update already preloaded prior to delivery, so essentially I won't know any better??Or would I be advised querying with the Dealer?

Kudos to the Site Administrators for involving LR Customer Service with the Forum, adds immense credibility to have their input.

The answer should be yes.

However, I've been too preoccupied to register my new Evoque on TOPIx so haven't seen what info is on my car.

According to TOPIx my car has Q450v3

Thanks Ryan (CS@LandRover), I appreciate your swift response

Mighty impressive when RR care enough to join the forum and wade into the discussions, I think itadds real value and credibility to the threads

How do I tell which version of Q450 my Evoque now has? It went in for its 1 year service today, so how do I tell if Q450v3 has been applied? TOPIx shows Q450 as an "Outstanding Campaign" on my Evoque, but does it take some days for this to be updated?

Hi

Thank you for your posts.

When the Q450 Service Action has been completed, it may not instantly show on Topix as having been completed as the retailer will need to process this action through their warranty systems, which should update Topix accordingly.

Should anyone still be experiencing concerns following the completion of Q450, I would recommend contacting your retailer for further assistance.

Regards

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I have a similar question as IBiffy. I checked on TOPix and it shows that my Evoque was built on Dec 23rd, 2014 (I got it in March 2015). Would it already be preloaded with Q425/450? I don't know where to look for this in TOPix... only that Q450NAS3 shows up in the "Activity Stream". The only Oustanding Campaign is I need a servicing at 16,000km. Any help or guidance you can provide will be appreciated.

Question for others who had this update applied, has this improved gearbox change performance or something I should be avoiding?

I've been thinking about this a lot as it is different to the previous 9 speed which I preferred.

However, my wife likes it.

I'm not sure if I'm getting used to it, or it is getting used to me, but things seem to be settling down.

Only time and miles will tell.

So, what exactly are the differences between:
1. The original software on a 2014 Evoque.
2. V1 of Q450.
3. V2 of Q450.
4. V3 of Q450.

I'm trying to understand whether I should notice any difference between the original software that was on my gearbox and what is now on it after my first service on Thursday. I don't notice any difference, but then I didn't get the earlier versions of Q450 anyway.

Hi all,

Please note that there are a number of reasons why the version numbers are changed, this can be anything from simply rewording of the campaign, to changes to the actions to carry out on the vehicle.

If you are experiencing any concerns with your vehicle I would advise visiting your local Land Rover approved retailer who will be able to ensure that your vehicle has no outstanding campaigns and investigate your concern further.

The Q450 campaign is intended to provideimprovements in gear shift quality in order to provide a smoother transition through gears during driving. This is done through reconfiguring the transmission control module.

Many thanks,
Ryan

Just had my Evoque serviced and they carried put - Q425 9 Speed Automatic Transmission Calibration.

Now it is very jerky and clunky when speeding up 3 to 4th and 4 to 5ht gear. They have restored the previous setting which has made the gear changes better but not to how smooth they were before the service.

Anyone else suffering this? The dealer has asked I send "complaint" to them so they can relay to LR.
I remember complaining about a overhauled merc auto being more harsh/abrupt on up shifts and was told by the auto specialist that the 'thump' reduced the wear on the clutch plates as opposed to a more gently slip.
If it is relevant to the 9A it might be worth having for longevity reasons.
Ps
With Australia's mostly 100-110kmph speed limits I'm wondering what the gearing is in top in both 9A and 6M?

Becoming frustrated at posts relating to Evoque problems and the shine has now gone from my expectations when my HSE Dynamic finally arrives. Traced the origin of the above post and it was in 2014, hopefully a problem long since sorted.

as far as I'm aware haven't heard anything otherwise... :)

If you read forums, generally it full of problems whatever the car, The thousands of Happy customers tend not to have anything to post about of have even found a forum.

Aislabyjim. Hope your right ? I'm looking forward to my dynamic arriving late December and reading some of these posts make me wonder if I've made a good choice in new car ??
Me thinks it's probably more a case of 'accepted wisdom' and not based on actual data........an old reputational hangover(?)

Sure enough Land Rover are not without their problems but.....
Welcome to the internet.
While none of us would be without it, you will hear from a huge proportion of dissatisfied people and every problem under the sun. On the flip side you don't get anywhere near the same proportion of happy customers post to tell you their car has behaved flawlessly.

It's not a bad thing but you have to do the math yourself and if its eating away that much, go and look at other car forums and you will find similar things. Audi Q3 vibration, Ford Kuga water leaks. Lets not stop there try Apple products or dining room furniture.

But please don't check up on the tickle in your throat that hasn't gone away inside 2 weeks..you'll probably find you snuffed it a couple of years ago
