I'm interested to know what colour people are choosing - especially now there's been problems with the Xirallic paint.

My heart wanted white but a) It's what Range Rover have used for all the marketing, so I suspect everyone will be going with white and b) I remember when white suddenly went out of fashion in the mid 90s and the value of white cars suddenly plummeted.

So I decided to go with black. I wonder if everyone is going for black?! But after being told I can't have Santorini I agreed to go with the substitute black. Not sure if it's still metallic, though.

So what colour are you going for?

Urgent: Exterior Paint Supply Issue</td></tr><tr><td width="596" style="padding-bottom: 0cm; padding-left: 0cm; width: 447pt; padding-right: 0cm; padding-top: 0cm; ">Dear Colleague

Following the devastating events in Japan in March we have been closely monitoring and assessing our supply chain in order to identify any issues.

Whilst Jaguar Land Rover has been able to contain potential disruption to date we do now have to take action in respect of one area of supply ""“ Metallic paint.

This issue, which affects a number of automotive manufacturers, relates to the availability of 'xirallic' flakes that are an essential component of some of our metallic paints.

This issue affects 15 of our paint colours for 11MY and 12MY vehicles and as a consequence we are taking the following actions:<ul ="disc"><li ="Msonormal">Replacing colours with close alternatives<li ="Msonormal">Removing or suspending colours from the line-up<li ="Msonormal">Delaying launch of colours
The 15 affected colours are Santorini Black, Stornoway Grey, Lago Grey, Firenze Red, Baltic Blue, Bali Blue, Kosrae Green, Nara Bronze, Rimini Red, Rousillon Red, Aintree Green, Colima Lime, Barolo Black, Havana and Mauritius Blue.

Replacement Colours- to be introduced in June and maintained in place for several months until further notice:<ul ="disc"><li ="Msonormal">Santorini Black will be replaced with Sumatra Black (previously used on 08MY Freelander)<li ="Msonormal">Stornoway Grey will be replaced with Orkney Grey (identical to the Jaguar colour Lunar Grey)<li ="Msonormal">Baltic Blue will be replaced with Buckingham Blue (previously used on 10MY Solihull products)<li ="Msonormal">Kosrae Green will be replaced with Galway Green
Removed Colours- no longer available on orders from June onwards. These colours will not be reintroduced:<ul ="disc"><li ="Msonormal">Bali Blue (not available on Discovery and Range Rover Sport from 22/04/11)<li ="Msonormal">Lago Grey<li ="Msonormal">Rimini Red
Removed and Delayed Colours- not available on orders from June onwards. Reintroduction timing to be confirmed:<ul ="disc"><li ="Msonormal">Nara Bronze<li ="Msonormal">Firenze Red* (will not be introduced on Freelander in May. Limited availability for Freelander LE2 only)<li ="Msonormal">Aintree Green<li ="Msonormal">Colima Lime*<li ="Msonormal">Mauritius Blue*<li ="Msonormal">Barolo Black<li ="Msonormal">Havana<li ="Msonormal">Rousillon Red (limited availability for 11MY Range Rover Ultimate Edition only)
*Plan to introduce on Range Rover Evoque in Q1 2012

9 Unaffected Colours:<ul ="disc"><li ="Msonormal">Fuji White<li ="Msonormal">Zermatt/Indus Silver<li ="Msonormal">Siberian Silver<li ="Msonormal">Galway Green<li ="Msonormal">Ipanema Sand<li ="Msonormal">Bournville<li ="Msonormal">Marmaris Teal<li ="Msonormal">Tamar Blue<li ="Msonormal">Keswick Green
Current orders in the order bank will unavoidably be affected and the Sales and Supply Operations team will contact markets to communicate the process for amendments.

We appreciate the disruption this causes and ask for your understanding in managing the constraints we are facing in these unforeseeable circumstances. Our priority with these actions has been to continue to offer our customers a wide range of colour choices.</td></tr></t></table>

that's a bummer. Oh well will probably go with the Sumatra black...probably no real noticeable difference. Thanks for the heads up.

My only concern is resale. By early 2012 they'll be making Evoques with the Santorini black and, when I come to sell my solid black Evoque, it'll be less desirable than a fancy Xirallic metallic version.

Its good that we don't all like the same colour. Black is the No 1 colour on cars generally ATM. Can't stomach black myself nor can the wife who ordered an Si4 Dynamic LUX in all Fuji White with Pursuit Interior. Lots of comments on What Car regarding how dark the interiors were perceived in the customer clinic.<div id="myWatcherDiv" style="display:none;">

Just looked at the What Car customer clinic. Hopefully the panoramic roof will lighten up the interior. Some valid points made about the car but it seemed well received. I hope I like it as much and feel it's practical enough for the family once I've seen it in the flesh. Rear space comments are a cause for concern.I think resale values will be superb for the first couple of years, especially as the order books are filling up fast. By the time it's released in the showroom my dealer is anticipating a 12month wait. Not helped by the colour issues mentioned on another link. Some on-line specialists are already quoting 12months for delivery if you order now and no discount. (Autoebid for example. They were showing a £2.5k discount 2 weeks ago. Now it's none at all). PCP figures will be available from dealers at the end of the month. This will show what the industry think of it. Will be interesting to me anyway!

I was up to a Barolo black. Since the trouble, I'll go for Ipanema, which I think will be just fine for the Coupé Prestige, as the car is rather small with plenty of chrome.

Hi everyone.
First saw the car in the 'What Car' magazine (last year) and fell for the Firenze Red.
Went to L.R and placed a quick order to get on the list.
When I read the original article about the paint I again went to L.R to pick another colour (bearing in mind THEY didn't inform me about the paint). After looking in their car lot I was told I could in fact order the car in Stornowat Grey. I did order it and specked up the vehicle PRESTIGE WITH LUX PACK, and went away.
I was looking on their web site last week and noticed that Stornoway Grey has been removed and replaced with the new Jaguar Grey. Again I contacted L.R after going to Jaguar to see the Grey and told them to change my colour to Fugi White.

NOW TO THE POINT.
Fugi White is a base colour and if you pick it from the PURE listing then to upgrade to Metalic (Stornoway of Firenze) then the option price is £550.
Does anyone agree that L.R should (customer relations) reduce the PRESTIGE price by £550, or offer some other incentive (possibly Solar Control Glass)?.
FINALLY.
Does anyone have an Email address in sales at L.R Liverpool as the dealership near me don't seem to know as much about this vehicle as some of us and cannot offer me/us any deals.
