Anyone know what this soft white rubber tube is or more importantly should it be connected to something. Thanks in advance.

It might help if we knew what engine and generation of car you have...

It does look a bit odd!

It looks like the type of tubing used on the window washer jets.

It's a very soft rubber tube so i can't imagine it being used for any pressure but it disappears into the bottom of the engine and is really difficult if not impossible to trace.

The screen and headlamp wash works ok, should of said the pipe really does seem to dissapear into the bottom of the engine itself.

Mines a 13 pure same as yours and I’ve just been out to have a look at mine. No pipes looking anything like that anywhere near there so not much help. It kind of looks like a suction pipe for draining the oil but these are normally thinner and go down the dipstick tube.

Have you tried sucking on it (!), any taste? Blow down it, any pressure?
