Question for your lucky ones who already have the Evoque.
How are you getting-on with the voice commands? My Dealer tells me it is 'great' and the handbook says you can train it!

I have an RRS at the moment and it is rubbish :)

I am hoping the new system actually works - so how is it?

Cheers!

I was hoarse shouting at it when I collected my Prestige last Friday. I'm getting on a little better now, although glad I don't have any passengers with me as I practise.

I've had about a 80% success rate with it so far - it really impressed me by accepting the Location' Hamsterly Mill' first time but then failed on 'Ben Rhydding' both difficult I guess.

As for Training - havent heard anything about that! I'll have to look in the menu's and find out where / how you do that.

Yep it's very good. A bit clumsy at tImes especially when you want to dial a contact, takes too long to go thru the menus but it is accurate in general

Hi Rob
Give it a try and let us know... (extract from the manual)

This is a feature designed to enable the system
to better recognise the vocal characteristics of
a user, once the training has been completed.
To carry out Voice training:
""¢ Select Setup from the Home menu.
""¢ Select Voice and from the Setup menu.
""¢ Select Voice training from the Voice
settings menu.
""¢ Select User 1 or User 2, to start the
training.
""¢ Follow the on-screen and audible
instructions.
The training session can be cancelled at any
time by touching the on-screen pop-up or by

pressing and holding the Voice button.

That's good to hear. My BMW had limited voice control for telephone etc. but it had a hard time with my North East accent!

I am on my second RRS and they have both been rubbish.
I had an Audi A8 before that and it was no better either.

If they have managed to make it work for a range of accents then that will be great.

I sort of expect that my North West accent will be immediately understood

You guys are certainly putting it to the test. SA in Scotland, Welsh and NE England- what a range. There is hope for me then.
How many other varieties have had success?
