Hi fellow forumers,
due to my car only having one key fob I purchased a genuine new one sealed in packet for £65 via EBay. I have a Gap iid tool and after getting the key programming function unlocked on my tool via Patrick from Gap I decided to try it and it did in fact program the new key fob to my car.
I still had the old key fobs to my last Evoque that was stolen as insurance didn’t want them and told me to dispose of them so I decided to see if I could program these used fobs to my car.
I did the procedure and surprisingly I managed to reprogram both my used key fobs to my current vehicle.
I thought I would post this to let fellow forumers know that it can be done so if anyone needs another key fob they can save money buying a used one and getting it reprogrammed.
my current car is a 2012 model and the used key fobs were from a 2012 model also.
