Hi, I am going to update the satnav on my Evoque to the latest 2020 Europe maps. (2013 model with the Gen2.1 Nav).
Dealer price is £169 which I wil pay but then found a few others offering it much cheaper.
This company caught my eye, £99 UK based, with excellent reviews on trustpilot.
There were others and some cheaper but they looked dodgy.
Has anyone used them and are they as good as they appear?

Yep, they offer a guarantee and I can pay by PayPal so more secure.

Let us know how you get on with the upgrade. Just recently purchased my Evoque, is there anyway to find what version my Sat Nav is?

I am actually going away from idea at the moment.
On the website there is no address for them, even on terms and conditions and the data protection policy, that sets alarm bells ringing. nothing on companies house either Sounds vague.
I checked with firstly my independ specialist and they can’t get them but can get anything else. Then found the main dealer can’t supply them either and only available direct from the JLR website for my year.
It’s £70 more but seems safer.
I know that some times dealer software auto uninstalls any non approved programmes, not sure if JLR does but that would immediately render it useless.
So looks like for me there is no other option than main dealer. TBH it’s only once every few years it needs doing for my use so not too bad. (£169 😢😢😢😢)

Have to agree it does sound a bit iffy and not worth the risk. If you do go via JLR website for the update let me know how you get on.

The current Nav system updates its maps every month 😱 I am a bit OCD when I get a message saying “Update your Maps“ on the screen I can’t help myself, even though I doubt very much that it’s needed that often.
I hope there’s a way of disabling that message once it runs out of free updates 🤔

Maybe it is linked to the subscription??
If not it will be very annoying 😡

Well I abandoned the idea of a cheaper option and bought it from Landrover. Technically you buy it from Landrover.navigation.com which is operated by here.com maps.
Same day dispatch for the memory stick, I was required to create an account, add a vehicle then associate the new map product to the vehicle.
This generates an activation code required for install.
I am gussing the cheap places have copied the maps and found a way to hack the activation code which is dodgy.
Hopefully will all be good now and the 2013 road layouts will be updated. Total cost £174.83 including delivery.

It’s the right thing to do, but it’s bloody expensive !!! It’s like buying a new Tom Tom every time the map needs updating 😱

I take it you plug it into your car USB port and it uploads, did it take long for the updates to upload?

There's a tick box in the nav settings to disable checking for updates, I only bothered updating every 6 months or so. My subscription has now expired and I'll only consider renewing if they ever get the "keep logged in" fixed - just to get back the traffic warnings active again (seeing my radio 'TA' has no sound since the last update )

Had traffic updates today. went out and ran the car for half an hour as it’s been stood for a good few weeks. Radio on, Traffic updates cutting in.

The original post was about how to update the Sat Nav in a 2013 Evoque via the USB port in the car. I don’t wish to sound rude or ungrateful but your car is 2020 with a totally different way of updating

Thanks Geoff, the chances of anything on this forum staying on subject is highly unlikely, good thing is it will probably come back round at some time, if I live long enough, or it may just degenerate into random quips.... 😂😂
