R5 RRT - My initials with R5 kind of RS as I always wanted a mk1 or 2 Escort RS
S555 JPT - My wife's initials and that was the best I could find available on the DVLA at the time
S55 RRT - on my Evoque as I couldnt get R50 or R55 etc to match my other plate
I’ve got A2DDR on the Evoque, DDR are my initials and it’s been on all my cars since 1990 and there’s been quite a few of them.
Wife has J500 CAR on her Fiat 500 convertible, CAR are also her initials.
My favourite is the latest MX56REY which reads as MX5 6REY on her mark4 MX5 Icon which is obviously grey.
I bought a Porsche 924 back in 1982, so bought a personal number plate to go with it for £200, and had a choice of plates, and went for JYD *** (these * being 3 numbers). Had it all these years, still got it on my car today.
Why did I pick JYD, well it represented Just a Young Driver.
I may not be so young now, but still love driving
Also got *** LAM on my other car right now, where * is a prefix-letter and ** is two numbers under 20. I got it over 20 years ago with a secondhand Honda Civic which was previously owned by a Chinese gentleman named Mr Lam
I am always hoping a Lamborghini owner will stop me and buy the plate for £5000, wishful thinking
2 YMM - has been on my cars for the last 30+ yrs, before that, it was my father's since mid 50s (old Mddx number).
2 GMX - again, this has been on my wife's various cars for 30+yrs - was my mother's before that from mid 50s (again, another old Mddx number).
MGB 3 - had this on my MGB (what a surprise!) when I was a Uni student. Sold the car plus number to fund a Reliant Scimitar GTE.
25 MAT - bought this for my son, Matthew (again, what a surprise!) for his 25th B'day. he has subsequently sold it - his car kept on getting keyed!!! It hasn't been keyed since he changed his reg to a more 'normal' one.
