I'm pretty sure they are still 'making' replacement steering racks! There is a wait as they are in demand 😟
From previous posts It didn't sound as if you had the 'fix on fail' bolt problem.

So I guess if you haven't got a warranty you may well have to pay for the repair on a 6 year old vehicle.

Edit: £1700 is a low price as a new rack is often around £3000

Its a reconditoned one, had to double check. Good thing you mentioned it.
But even reconditoned and new one long back longs.
Got mine booked in for friday at Lr!

I thought that the racks are the same as fitted to some models of Tesla who are also having problems!

There’s someone selling new, unboxed ones for £800 plus £50 postage on eBay. Seems like a bargain.

So iv been advised by a land rover specialist that i need a new steering rack on the evoque 15. Which will cost £1700 supply and fit. Interestingly the bolts are fine but more to do with the electrics. There is also a back log on the steering racks too as they not making anymore.

Does anyone where i can find one?

and is it worth still taking to LR? As it doesnt seem to be the bolts

hi, would you mind joining my Facebook group regarding this? It’s a group specifically for this fault and we are campaigning for a recall or free repair. We would like to hear people’s experiences regarding this fault, whether you were in any danger and whether you had to pay for repair. I hope you have it sorted but if not, we also have advice on how to approach JLR for a free repair. I have also started a petition for this.
