Funny you should wonder whether he/she was Siemens, the same thought went through my mind!

Ian

Oh boy could I tell you some stories! As an independent electrical engineer for 25 years, I'm completely baffled of how they manage to dominate the industry. Never in the history of mankind had a company been so full of their own hype. In fact they make a good pair with JLR, (never ever in the wrong, no matter what the circumstance).

Hi. New so not sure if posting right.

User James1990 or anyone else. HELP.

Hoping you can let me know how after your issues JAMES1990 with the Bluetooth working independently again. All works apart from icon top left saying not connected but phone shows connected.

Just had mine updated and Apple car play and android fitted. My version is on phase 4 18D.

Apple car play etc all works but mine is doing exactly what your was. I told the garage before I left and they told me well if that side doesn’t work to just ensure it’s always plugged in. NO, told them that’s not the point, the point is I have the choice if I connect via wire or use car play but if I don’t I should still be able to use the original media screen and phone Bluetooth connectivity as per it was beforehand. Hoping you can tell me what they did to rectify yours as garage don’t know at the moment.

Finally managed to get an Over the Air update. I had to ask the JLR service manager to enable updates from their end, then force the car to check for updates whilst connected to WiFi. The car then reported an update was available and started the install. It took about 25 minutes to download and install an 8mb update, then lock the car and leave it in order for the system to restart.

A bit out of date by now!

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ONLY work when the phone is plugged by USB. Doesn't work wifi!

Touch the Land Rover Icon to revert to the original Land Rover screen.

Best

Just had an email from LR "A wireless software update is now available for your Land Rover."

Went out and checked and there was an update showing, so download and installed it, so LR seem to be getting a better rollout process for the ota updates.

I think it's only for MY17 onwards which have the widescreen satnav screen without the 4 buttons down each side Donna.

Conscious this post is fairly old, so apologies but I didn’t want to start a new thread and I’ve invested a bit of time reading through 12 pages of this one 👍🏼

So at the weekend I collected my first Range Rover Evoque 2017 HSE Dynamic and I’m over the moon but have been reading about updating the software.

After reading this post I see now that online (WiFi/mobile hotspot) connection should allow you to download the update over air connection. I have also been reading the Land Rover website (https://www.landrover.co.uk/ownership/incontrol/software-updates/index.html) but when following the steps and connecting to my WiFi - a software update option isn’t visible in my ‘All Settings’ in any of the sub menus.

Has anyone had any experience of this that could provide any support?
Thanks in advance
Marc

Little bit more searching - I’ve tried registering my VIN to my newly created InControl Apps account but it currently says the vehicle is still connected to another account. If I’m the new owner I can contact LR to deactivate the account but I need proof of ownership so I’ll have to wait a few weeks for the V5C.

Could this be the issue or is this unrelated?

Get onto the dealer to sort it. The salesman can do it from his desk

I didn’t buy the car from a LR main dealer.
I bought the vehicle from a used car dealer in Bathgate but they do seem to specialise in Range Rovers - will they have the ability to do it?

Quite possibly worth trying. If not they may get a faster response from JLR as they sold it. failing that would JLR accept a fax copy of your sales receipt? Save waiting for the V5. Maybe take your receipt to your nearest Lr dealer & talk to them nicely, they may help

Thanks I’ll give this a go tomorrow.
Do you think this is linked to why I don’t see the software update within the settings of the car? Or is this totally unrelated and I’m still going to have to contact LR directly to get it book into them to process the update.

I’d try your local JLR dealer first see if they can help.

I'm sure they can do it if you take the green new keepers slip with you.

On your Home Screen do you have four options to press for audio, nav, seats and phone? Or do you have three vertical columns? If you have the four buttons you need the N377 update. This should be free from a JLR dealer. Give them a call and ask them to book you in.

I still have the 4 buttons so as you suggest I’ll need to request the N377 update.
Can this update only be done by a LR Main Dealer or should I be able to complete this update at home via WiFi (Software over the Air)?
Thanks

I'm afraid it's a dealer only job.
There are stories of them stopping it due to covid etc but you never know if you ask nicely.
