Anybody aware if there isan issue with the fuel tank on the petrol Evoque? Some reports that the vent on the tank hassome featurewhich results in petrol 'back-spitting' during routine refueling due to a build up of pressure within the tank. It can be as bad as creating a semi-pressurised vapour spray. Surely must be considered as something ofa safety issue.LR have justacknowledged the problem and have put their boffins to work. Anybody else aware? Apparently no issues with the diesel model.

Uh-oh, another reasons for the Si4 engined cars to be delayed, especially since this is a potential safety issue. Where did these reports come from?

The Si4 has a larger tank than the diesels to take account of the higher consumption and provide a comparable range between refuelling stops, so it wouldn't be surprising if space for the neck was constrained.

Of course, they only had 3 years to find out this fault and put it right. You'd think someone would have noticed, wouldn't you?

The interim advice from LR is that the tanks should not have more than a 50% fill until a fix is determined. Hardly a practical solution even as a temporary measure. I'm sure they will have their best brains working on a remediation as a matter of urgency
