Hello,
Owned this 2016 evoque since new and the last few days I have had a rattle/vibration at low revs.
It seems to be coming from the top end of the exhaust.
Going in garage tomorrow hopefully but looking for any ideas on what it could be.

Thanks

Hi all, I’m new to the form, nice to meet y’all ;-) I bought a 2015 evoque ed4 for my wife for Xmas with 60k on it and it has this problem, it “rattles” at low revs in and out of gear so don’t think it’s drivetrain related, hoping it’s an exhaust heat shield and not manifold. Other symptoms are the same as the OP. Any advice appreciated.

Usually the heat shield if a tinny rattle, hopefully this for both of you as an easy fix if it is.

On a related note, does anyone has a pdf repair manual to share ? I did a quick google but nothing came up. Cheers, Lee

So I had the “exhaust” rattle fixed today, it seems 3 bolts had rusted off the heat shield under the car and it was loose, hence vibrating at low revs. This particular heat shield is positioned under the drivers seat. Car now sounds much quieter at low revs and also on a run.

Tidy, had a Land Rover specialist nose at mine and has said it’s similar problem.
Car in garage a week today but hopefully simple fix like yours.

Update.... been out today in the car and still getting the rumble, obviously the heat shield needed the bolts replacing and it was vibrating, but this is a deeper rumble at low revs and sounds like it’s coming from the engine bay- anyone had something similar?

So I got round to getting mine in Land Rover specialist garage.

The explanation for the vibration at low revs,
The problem heat shield that is causing the issue has no mechanical fixings and is just clamped in. After time rust/corrosion has caused a small gap in the join which is causing the vibration an have been assured it’s nothing to worry about.
