Mine is on a 68 plate and doesn't show how much to put in just the range and on its first service I asked the dealer if they check the levels and his reply was No

Yes, on the MY 17 wait until the warning flashes up, then add no more than 10 litres. No ned to buy it from LR.

It was certainly the case in the past that DEF level was not checked at the service, or even pre-delivery! Those with service plan were entitled to unlimited free top-ups. I don't know what the current state of play is, but as far as I can remember the DEF was not topped up on my last (first) service (but my memory could be at fault).
It is still unlimited top ups with a service plan, it’s just that the service plan is now @ £1900 for services that would cost @ £1500 if you paid as they were due 😱

That’s a hell of a lot of AddBlu even if you take into account the exorbitant JLR prices
