I agree you should take it to the garage. The problem with D-I-Y is that you might get so far with the job but then be defeated by a rusted joint or want of a certain tool. By then you would have an undriveable car and would have the hassle of getting someone out to finish the job on your driveway.
 
Hi everyone. Just to finish off this post, I took the car to my local independent garage (Mr Tyre in Shrewsbury) and asked them to do the job. These guys have done many jobs on my cars over the years and I really trust them. According to their “time for the job” software, the allowance for the work is 75 mins. In the end it took 3 hours as the main bolt (steel bolt in an aluminium part) refused to move and had to be heated then driven out. I’d never have been able to do this on my drive!!!
