Mine is an aftermarket reverse camera and yes you like I did have to drill a hole for the camera unless you have it where JLR mount them more to the right but there is a removable panel to swap.

I just reused my drill bit to drill the led bar not an issue as the rear and insides are identical to the genuine flat one that's fitted to the car.

Any questions feel free to ask no problem 👍👍
I’ve attached a couple pics of my rear camera , I’m just a little bit scared in drilling a hole on the new led strip in case I crack it or damage it. I’m not as brave as you lol!

No it's not an issue to be fair there's plenty if room on the underside of the new trim the actual light runs the within the outer flat edge so your nowhere near it and there's no wires.

I redrilled the camera before I transferred any of the bits off the old trim couple of my pics below show my camera remounted in the same place as it was on my original trim

Thanks! I did message Powerfuluk. They did say that there’s a blanking plate which I can unscrew to house the camera. Do you recall anything like that ? I think I’m like yourself at the start whether to buy this, just need a little nudge more and then I’m convinced! 😀

🙈 You did mention on post 9, That’s there’s a panel for original Land Rover camera. So I’m guessing the only way to house a Aftermarket camera is drill a hole like you did with yours?

Yeah there's a panel where an original camera would be mounted on the cars original trim so you could either take that panel out to drill it and mount your a.m camera there or just drill the main body as I did roughly where I'd mounted it before which is inbetween the boot release switch and the offside number plate light looking from the rear.

The width of the panel in that area is around 2.3/4" and is roughly the same size between the switch and number plate light so by finding the centre using masking tape to draw on measure and mark both ends then join the lines to form a cross then where the horizontal and vertical lines cross that's your centre point to drill simples 👍👍

Thank you ! I think the first course of action is to remove my original trim and see how the camera sits and then decide whether to buy the led trim or not. Looking at your pics. It’s a really nice addition to the car ! 👍🏻

If like my camera the hole size will probably be around 15mm and pending when it was fitted its either push in and a flat nut tightened down the threaded body to sandwich the trim between the cam and nut,
Or similar drill hole but the camera body has no threads bu 4 lengths of grated metal at 12,3,6,9 that's designed to push in and forget

I want to say a big THANK YOU to Gtiaps for helping me today, I was really concerned on how about removing the Original trim from my Evoque
As I have a Aftermarket Reverse Camera and Aftermarket Powered tailgate fitted. He was able to painstakingly in guiding and troubleshooting my issues.

So after a few teething problems, I have now sorted my issue and went ahead and purchased the Smoked LED bar as I have Smoked rearlights fitted.

I will update this Post with pictures when I have installed this LED bar.

Thanks again!

Thanks for your kind words I like many others on here all have strengths in a plethora of issues and resolutions.
Happy to help and as said hopefully you got the cam working 👍👍

I really like the look of that 😍
I could fit one at the same time as sorting my reversing camera....seems like a good plan 😆
Got mine fitted today. It looks great & I'm really chuffed!
Just one question for you @Gtiaps .... as in your photos, mine has the same section where the LED strip looks incomplete. I don't think it detracts from the overall effect but just wondering if it's a design feature / fault & is it less noticeable in the dark? I'd appreciate your feedback before I give the PowerfulUK guys a message to see what they say.
Thanks 👍🏻

BTW swapped out my reversing camera with the wing mirror. No water ingress visible but very definitely defunct...on the hunt now for a 4 pin replacement 🥺

Yeah I did notice the area that seems incomplete towards the right hand side iv emailed and sent pics to Powerful UK awaiting their response iv looked at their installation but can't make any definite comment that it's the same and the night picture shot they have on the site unfortunately we dont know if it's the red or smoke strip they've used, as you say and I agree it doesn't deter away from the overall effect

Any info I receive back I will update this thread I know @CoolBlueWhyte has ordered one so we can await his opinion and pics 🤔👍🤔

Excellent, thanks for the quick reply Gtiaps.
I agree it's hard to see in their video but on closer inspection & zooming right in theirs looks the same.
I'll send off pics to them too...see what they say.
Still looks totally excellent though! 😍

These days insurers are strict about modifications (especially lighting) do you think this is something they need to be notified about? I like keeping mine standard, so not for me just thinking out loud.

I can see where your coming from with regards insurance companies and how some frown on modifications I know when I was doing the modded scene flashy boot installs, interiors and under bonnet bling there was really only one to use and to be fair so were they.

I think with this addition to me it's more a better safety illumination especially across the rear but I've noticed quite a few brands out there now with full width light strips across the back and some with white across the front.

For that reason I wouldn't have thought they would want to increase a premium but I could be wrong

H All!

I have managed to fit my Led Bar, I'm happy with it! Thanks again to Gtiaps who gave me excellent advice on how to remove this, Even though I watched PowefulUk's Video like
a hundred times! The issue was that I have a retrofitted powered tailgate and an aftermarket reversing cam, I was worried that these 2 which weren't factory fitted may cause any installation problems!
So he guided me back and forth! first time removing the trim was a little bit iffy! But I guess you get more confident as you go along! Anyways it turns out he went to the same place to get his reversing camera installed! Which is in Glasgow and he's all the way down in Sheffield! Now To post a question for a reverse camera replacement in the forums!

Ps: Yeah the Car needs a good clean! its filthy! ! !

Hi All.
Just an update on these light bars, although the sweep effect and overall function of it is great I have decided to return mine purely as there's about an 8" section that's blocky as though the actual leds are too spaced out leaving a dark lines between them.

I have been back in touch with PUK and they have checked their stock and they all seem to light up the same, they hope that with any future production the manufacturer can rectify the bars lighting so its consistent all the way across.

From what I gather all remaining stock has been taken off the site and is no longer available to buy at this time so obviously they are aware of the issue as myself and a couple of other members have purchased these are are also in the process of returning them to PUK on their instruction for a refund if I wasn't happy.

Apologies to any members that have ordered these on the back of my initial post but at least you guys now know of a potential problem with the and can act accordingly..

Regards Neil

Hi !
Could you be kind enough to take more pics of your led bar ? That’s if you haven’t removed it yet.
Were PowerfulUK happy to accept a return even though you drilled a hole for the Aftermarket reverse camera?

Yeah they just said if I wasn't totally happy with it then return it for a refund, regarding the camera hole I didn't mention it as obviously the actual light pattern issue wasn't visible until after it was fitted.

Il await what they say when they receive it back, unfortunately I'm unable to get any more photos of it other than the ones already posted as it's off the car and back in it's box ready to return
