it used to be the lovely Evoque but that has gone now-so German (Ja-Ja) all the way for us.
trying to convince the holder of the Maffy purse that she needs a GLC in her life-work in progress.

Well I got an update yesterday that mine will be ready to take delivery mid November - that’s not going to happen now. Will be December at the earliest depending on the lockdown situation I now think .

But I'm guessing some dealers may close like they did in March?
So could be luck of the draw...

...agreed, but car dealerships are not manufacturing...so the question remains.

They can deliver it from Halewold straight to my home as there is no handover as such and the PDI isn’t done at the dealership

My car was built and on the transporter when the dealer closed for the first lockdown, it got returned to the JLR mothership and delivery was delayed by 2 months.

I’m emailing my dealer tomorrow. My last lease car went back week before last and car delivery is locked in for the 9th. I need the car to get to work. Which my employer will see as fairly essential.

Correct. Dealers will be closed though.
My dealership is closed at the moment but not all are.
as long as they can keep manufacturing them, hopefully the lockdown will be over soon and they can always get more transporters to deliver them to the dealerships

I tried that approach in April, this was the response from JLR customer service-

"As a vehicle manufacturer we do not specialise in the sales of our vehicles. It is for this reason that we have implemented our approved Land Rover retailer network to take responsibility for the sales and aftersales of our vehicles. As independent franchised businesses to us they are managed internally, it is for this reason that they would continue to be your point of contact regarding this."

New National Restrictions from 5 November
To reduce social contact, the Government has ordered certain businesses and venues to close. These include:
  • all non-essential retail, including, but not limited to clothing and electronics stores, vehicle showrooms, travel agents, betting shops, auction houses, tailors, car washes, tobacco and vape shops.

Sorry @Dansam 😢

Good news though, the wife is busy building her online MY21 Evoque P300e AutoBiog and a MY21 Velar P400e with the view of ordering one of them on Monday.
