Not sure if this is a common fault as I've searched the forum and not found anything regarding it but quite often now when we lock the car (single click) when we get to it, it won't open. It's as though it's been double clicked as the door mirrors have folded in. No matter how many times you try to unlock it, it just won't unlock. It does make a noise as though it's trying but not as loud as the actual unlocking noise.
We 're having to open the hatch, remove the parcel shelf and climb over to unlock the rear door and then lean in the rear door to unlock the front. Bit of a pain if there's stuff in the back.
We're going to pop into the dealers anyway to mention the turbo flutter (although it's not done it for a while now) and see if there's an update for the gearbox (usual lag/hesitation problem)
Just wondered if it's something we're doing wrong before we mention it to them and look like fools, lol

Oh, it's a 2014 2.2 Dynamic 9-sp auto.

Even though the mirrors fold in with a single click it sounds as though you’re doing nothing wrong but that there is indeed something wrong with the car.

Yeah that's the thing. It doesn't fold the mirrors in to start with, it's only when we return to the vehicle that we notice the mirrors have folded on their own. This is when we know it's not going to unlock. It does the same thing even when we double-click and fold the mirrors in intentionally.
It actually did this a few weeks after getting it in June/July time but we thought nothing of it as it stopped doing it until recently where it's a bit more prolific now - say, 1 in 5 times of locking.

Yes, that was my first thought and even put a new battery in one just to be on the safe side.
It does the same with both.

Sounds like a definite fault then so I'll try and get it took in during the week.
(Need a quote on a repair anyway as some blind woman reversed into the door and wing on Friday)

There’s a YouTube video about this but on an older Range Rover. Simple fix, find the video and try it. May work, but if still in warranty get them to sort it.

Thanks Gray, yes it's still under warranty so it'll be going in with the few other niggles that want sorting.

I’m sure it will be something simple, make sure you get a full run down so you know how to fix it if it happens again. What’are your other issues?

It was getting the turbo flutter but it's not happening as much lately and also the usual gearbox lag/hesitation. Been meaning to pop it in for a while now but with the locking problem happening, it's time to pay a visit.
